“When we hold each other, in the darkness, it doesn’t make the darkness go away. The bad things are still out there. The nightmares still walking. When we hold each other we feel not safe, but better. “It’s all right” we whisper, “I’m here, I love you.” and we lie: “I’ll never leave you.” For just a moment or two the darkness doesn’t seem so bad.” — Neil Gaiman, Neil Gaiman’s Midnight Days |

She had been too busy trying to transform herself into the kind of person who doesn’t need anything from anybody, a wall of pure bricks. In the meantime, she had forgotten that when people walk into walls of bricks, they get hurt.

So the first week of my holidays has just flown passed and honestly I have no idea what I've done other than work and its already halfway through the second week and I honestly do not want to go back to school and start my final year of school e v e r. I havent done anything much really, cept I've been spending the majority of the time after my open shifts out, (like today) so I'm usually so dead tired by the time I get home and sit around like a lazy pig lol.
But at least these holidays I have managed to go at least one of the things I had wanted to do for a while, go and spend a proper day at the beach! I went with my little sister, and it was a 27/8 degree day, cept it didn't really feel like it at the beach. IT WAS SO WINDY AND SAND KEPT FLYING EVERYWHERE AND OMG. And my 'tan' was rather disappointing. In fact, I barely got a tan. I fell asleep at one point and apparently my towel left a tan mark? cause I was using my towel as a 'hat' to cover my face from the sun. And also because I was sleeping on my side, one side of my body is more tanned than the other, so my tan outline is more evident on one side than the other #firstworldproblems I bumped into a past scout leader which was horrible awkward as he told me 'watch what I said on the internet'........lol. And I got buried in sand, then alice got buried in sand, SHE BUILT A SAND CAKE AND OMG ALICE IS SO CUTE. SHE WAS LIKE "BOBO WHAT FLAVOUR DO YOU WANT THE CAKE TO BE?" And I'm like "Vanilla." And she's like "OKAY, DO YOU WANT ICING?!" How can someone who's getting older get so much cuter as well. LOL. Or maybe I'm just getting older. I went into the water a few times, while alice stayed in the outskirts screaming at how cold it was and was terribly reluctant to go any further into the water. Meanwhile, I think I have forgotten how to swim and have difficulties breathing after a few massive waves or so. I remember there was this one point where I was outside the flags and by the time I got to shore the lifeguard was like "DO YOU UNDERSTAND ENGLISH?!?!" And i'm like "yes, i know to swim between the flags." And she's like "good or else you'll be washed to N.Z." ..ha...ha...ha... I had bought my own food to the beach so I didn't have to buy any of the expensive crap they sold lol. It was actually a really really good day. Then we headed back out to the city to eat dinner and Alice had picked to eat at pepper lunch............. I actually haven't eaten in that place in like 50 years and I swear that time is going to be last time I'll ever eat there. Like I never feel like eating there and I'm not even that fond of the food there. The photos are bad quality and don't even look that great but I honestly don't really care because majority of them are taken by an iPhone 4 and yeah I'm not great at taking photos and I know that myself. ONLY IF I had saved up enough money to get myself the DSLR. in time to take it to the beach and take 'nice' photos. I have a goal. LOL. To save up and get the damn thing before mchappy day which is on the 9th of November this year. So I have around a month or so. The following day I had also taken Alice out for a 'playdate' in the city lol. Not that it was anything much considering I woke up at around 12 and got out around 1/2 and by the time we walked from Central up to Pitt Street majority of the stores were closed and we could only eat dinner. Alice was being a rather big pain in the ass since we went to Chat Thai to eat and I told her tat some dishes there had peanuts. Because she's allergic to peanuts she started freaking out and covered her mouth just in case she breathed in "PEANUT AIR." Not that she liked her dish much anyway, maybe its just me who is particularly fond of Thai food right now. Its probably cause I rarely have it. But I've noticed in Thai food everything's so sweet cause they chuck so much sugar in. I had a dentist appointment the next day AT A RATHER WAY TOO FUCKING EARLY TIME IN THE MORNING. 8:30. So stupid. Not that they actually did anything to my teeth, gave it another clean which was stupid cause like I only got my teeth washed not long ago, so their clean was like a rinse and their X-ray machine wasn't working and they didn't fill my holes in or anything so yeah, I have another appointment on the first day back to school, where they will hopefully do something rather beneficial to my teeth lol. omg so like Costco sells books and they sold the whole Game of Thrones series for 35$ HOW CHEAP IS THAT OMFG. And the Inheritance series for 23$ cept my mum didn't let me get both so like yeah. I STILL HAVENT READ THE LAST BOOK OF THAT SERIES AND IT MAKES ME SO SAD. Like it is seriously just a good series and a primary school favourite. Now that Alice is in year 5 I'm gonna make her read all my favourite primary school bookes heoeheoekekekeheoe. Well, at least I have Reeses at home now. Cept I don't think thats a good thing. I'm just gonna get fat, I'm already fat enough. #fatlyf Yesterday I had Scarlet's birthday dinner/outing. We went and ate at YorYok, which was Thai and I was very happy about that lol. Cept I ordered something chilli and it turned out like so sweet at the same time. THATS WHEN I REALISED THE WHOLE THAI FOOD AND SUGAR THING. When I first walked in I saw the chefs in like overalls and builder hats and I was just like wtf are they fixing something then someone told me its because they call the restaurant a "Thai food factory" which is why they're all dressed like that. I thought it was pretty cute. hahaha. Then we went to karaoke for two hours or so which was pretty much. I pretty much just belted out lyrics out of tune whatever. LOL. Maybe that explains why my throats so sore. Overall it was a really fun night, even though some people gave me the shits but it doesn't matter I guess. After having my four day break from working 7 days straight, I have started to work again as of my open shift today. And its a 6 day in a row shift LOL. Well at least I have double pay to look forward to next Monday. And also I'm doing open tomorrow and we've installed a new coffee machine. Which is pretty cool and fancy and that. I had to stay back after work till around 5 to learn how to use it and stuff. Now its pretty much like any coffee machine you'll see in a cafe AND ITS LIKE I HAVE TO RELEARN HOW TO FROTH MY MILK. Like the new steam wands are so fast. Like yeah I mean like its a good thing, but holy fuck, i can barely find my milk spin. KILLS MY LIFE. URGH. Its like relearning how to make coffee all over again. Plus making multiple coffees at once during busy periods are gonna be so hard now. /sigh. And tomorrow's not my last open shift ever urgh urgh urgh. And there's much steps to do with the cleaning Thank god overnight does it. But my manager's gonna do some questionare shit on us to make sure we remember everything and all that crap bleerrrghhh. I guess the new machine is really pretty cause its all shiny and colourful and that BUT URGH ITS MAKES EVERYTHING SO PAINFUL I HATE IT. Maybe I'll grow to like it. We named it 'Simone' Its a girl HAHA. omg its like 10 and I have open tomorrow AND I HAVENT FINISHED TUTOR WORK WTF FUCK MY LIFE OKAY BYE. Labels: 2013, alice, beach, work |
